Dalhousie Castle images
Overview
The Dalhousie Castle is a fascinating 13th century fortress set within acres of wooded parkland on the picturesque banks of the river Esk. Dalhousie Castle has very much kept its Scottish Castle character with many features from days-gone-by still prominent after restoration. Although individually designed, all guest bedrooms have every modern comfort included. A 100 year old Lodge in the grounds provides an additional 6 bedrooms for those who want added seclusion in a relaxed country house atmosphere. There is a Dungeon Restaurant in which to enjoy excellent traditional Scottish Castle cuisine that features fresh local produce such as Salmon, Venison, Grouse and prime Scottish Beef. The Orangery, with views over the River Esk, offers a more informal environment plus a lighter and more contemporary menu. Again the cuisine is primarily Scottish, but with Continental influences. The Castle has a host of impressive rooms including the “secret bar”, library, vaulted dungeon and unique castle bedroom – each with its own fireplace. Dalhousie Castle has a charming private Chapel and Vestry providing the estate with a great opportunity to host weddings and civil ceremonies as well as other social events. For those interested in outdoor pursuits Dalhousie Castle offers a wide variety of leisure pursuits, including clay pigeon shooting, archery, horse riding, golf, fly fishing, quad racing and much more. For those looking to relax and indulge the Aqueous Spa is the perfect addition to your stay.

Very polite, friendly and welcoming place to stay very atmospheric too.
